LEGACY PROGRAMS:
Honoring Our Troops Accomplishments from 2008–2020

Honoring Our Troops is an ACTIVE non-profit since August 2008. It was put on hold in 2020 due to the most recent Pandemic.

We are now once again assisting Veterans focusing on disability applications, with the LTC. Ken Robinson VA Program.

Honoring our Troops Mission statement was to improve the lives and community integration of Veterans and their families.

HRT over its lifetime operated seven major (8) programs:

Veteran Legal Clinic Mentorship Program Vet-to Vet Peer Support Group Massage for amputees

Seminar Program Compass career assessment Premium Care package drive (Monthly Digital Newsletter and Salute to a Great American)

Programs

HRT provides FREE Legal Assistance to Veterans via its bi-monthly Veteran Seminars and monthly Veteran Legal Clinic.

HRT facilitates Veteran Transition Assistance through its Compass and Professional Mentorship programs.

Over the years, we have phased out all the above successful programs having achieved their desired goal and focused on running the Veteran Legal Clinic and Veteran focused seminars.

HRT operated a Veteran Legal Clinic at VFW 3787 Post Mission Valley on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

We assisted over 2000 Veterans from 2008-2020 with all legal issues.

The most common issues that Veterans bring to us are discharge upgrades, DD 214 code upgrades, VA disability claims, landlord tenant disputes, family law cases, credit improvements and small claims issues. We produced a SitRep for the Post Commander on the type of legal service provided.

The total value of the legal services rendered in 2020 dollars: $1,700,000

Honoring Our Troops has put on multiple veteran focused seminars over the year. The seminars ranging from 30 minutes to one hour. The topics have included the following:

HRT personnel personally mentored Veterans on career goals, resume work ups and job interview skills. HRT partnered up with Corporate America.

HRT provided 150 free psychological career assessment tests that helped identify the veteran’s calling, lifegoal and dream job and as well as the training or education required plus the school that provided that specific training.

HRT provided access at the Veteran Legal Clinic to a peer support group called Vet-to-Vet hosted by Michael Silverman to address and assist the PTSD and suicide epidemic.

Collected content from local business and community, packaged and mailed over 850 premium care packages to soldiers stationed overseas for OIF.

Packing the boxes became a community event with the care packages being transported to the US mail post office by the Ghost Buster limousine. The crowd would go wild during the sendoffs.

Cutting-edge program to provide massage to amputees stationed at Naval Balboa Hospital, San Diego.
